I have two children aged 8 and 10 years old. Simon Flash is a game of skill and memory. The reason I bought this toy for them was to improve their memory. The colors flash and you must memorize what order it flashed in. It gets more difficult as you advance through the game. The game has a number of different stages of play. It is a sturdy game too. Though it's been dropped several times during play, it still works ok. My youngest son considered the game was so tough, yet he still plays with it. His elder brother really enjoy and have fun with this game. At first, it took a little bit of a learning curve to understand how to play it, but once we did, it was fun. Even when losing, the children would laugh and after that just try again. Lots of fun!

With Simon Shuffle, you solve each puzzle by lining up the colors in the original order displayed. In Simon Lights Off, you have to solve each puzzle by lining up the cubes in the correct order so that all the lights turn off. In Simon Secret Color, you solve the puzzle by figuring out the 
order to place the cubes in. As you get them in the right place, each cube turns to show the same color. The fourth game, Simon Classic, is the classic Simon game where you correctly repeat an increasing sequence of colors.
The cubes come with a portable carrying case for on-the-go play, ideal for a car trip with the family. A quick-play card lets you begin any game with minimal instruction.
